Catholic Social Service Society (CSSS) of Jammu & Kashmir, a NGO run by Jammu Srinagar Diocese celebrated its silver jubilee on Monday, 30th October 2006. The function began at 10.30 a.m with the blessing and inauguration of a new training centre at St. Joseph's Community Hospital at Smailpur, Jammu. Rt. Rev. Dr. Peter Celestine, OFM. Cap blessed the new block while Sh. Mangat Ram Sharma, the Hon'ble Minister for Health and Medical Studies inaugurated the new building. A blood donation camp was also inaugurated. Fr. Jose John, Fr. S. Joseph, Fr. Jose V., Fr. Robert, Fr. Victor and Sr. Jyotis were among the first to donate blood. Various medical check ups were also organised during the day. Hundreds of people from rural villages from all over Jammu region were present for the function. Hon'ble minister appreciated the works of CSSS and promised all possible cooperation from the Government. Sardar Manjeet Singh, Hon'ble minister for State of Education was also present on the occasion.
